February 10, 2025 – Ahmedabad, India – In a heartwarming gesture of solidarity and compassion, an offshore tax and accounting firm in Makarba, Ahmedabad, has been supporting the family of a young employee who tragically lost his life in a road accident last year. For the past 11 months, the firm’s three partners have ensured that the deceased employee’s parents receive his monthly salary of Rs. 50,000, providing crucial financial assistance in their time of need.
A Life Cut Short, A Commitment That Continues
Anant Rameshkumar Zalawadia, a 25-year-old employee at the firm, had been working with the company for two years when fate took a cruel turn. On March 5, 2024, Anant was on his way to work from Nikol when he was fatally struck by a dumper near the Pirana dumping site. His sudden demise left his family—his parents, Chandrikaben and Rameshbhai, and his younger sister Palak—devastated, both emotionally and financially.
Recognizing the hardship that Anant’s family would face, the firm’s co-founders—Khanjan Shah, Marmik Desai, and Mitsu Shah—decided to stand by their late colleague’s family in an extraordinary way. They resolved to continue paying his salary every month, just as if he were still employed.
“Anant may not be with us, but his parents should not feel abandoned. It was an immediate decision, and we all agreed that his family would receive his salary just like the rest of our employees,” said the partners.
Since then, on the 1st of every month, when the company credits salaries to its 42 employees, an additional Rs. 50,000 is deposited into Rameshbhai’s account. The firm has expressed its commitment to continuing this financial support for as long as possible.
More Than Just an Employee
Anant was more than just a diligent worker—he was a beloved presence in the office. Known for his discipline and kindness, he had a strict gym routine, avoided outside food on weekdays, and ensured that everyone in the office paused their work for lunch at 1 PM sharp.
“No matter the season—summer, winter, or monsoon—Anant was always the first to reach the office between 10:00 and 10:15 AM. He would light a diya (lamp) at his desk every morning before starting work. At lunchtime, he would remind everyone to stop working and eat together,” recalled his colleagues.
A devoted follower of Mahadev, Anant always kept an image of Ujjain Mahakal on his desk. On the morning of the accident, despite feeling unwell, he insisted on going to work. “He had a stomachache and asked for medicine, but when I offered to make him lemonade, he said, ‘No, I’ll be late for the office’ and left,” his mother, Chandrikaben, recalled with tearful eyes. “He never came back.”
Fulfilling His Last Wish
Just four days before the accident, Anant had participated in an office discussion about a team trip. While many employees suggested Abu or Udaipur, he firmly insisted on visiting Ujjain Mahakal. Tragically, he never got the chance.
To honor his unfulfilled wish, the entire office staff decided to visit Ujjain in his memory, paying respects at the very place he had longed to go.
A Legacy of Kindness
While nothing can replace the loss of a loved one, the compassionate gesture by Khanjan, Marmik, and Mitsu reflects the profound bond that extended beyond professional life. Their unwavering support for Anant’s family is a testament to the values of empathy and humanity in the corporate world.
In an era where businesses often prioritize profit over people, this Ahmedabad-based offshore tax and accounting firm has set an inspiring example—proving that true leadership is measured not just in numbers but in acts of kindness that leave a lasting impact.
